Scrappy Zoo Baby Quilt

My Aunty Ann was expecting her second Grandson on the 14th January and asked me if I could make a quilt, bunting and fabric covered wipes container for her to gift.

The brief was that it had to co-ordinate with this little play gym that she had bought for him.

Using all scraps except for two fat quarters that I already had in my stash, I think I nailed it. I kept to the zoo/jungle animal theme and used only the colours that were on the play gym.

The backing and binding fabrics I picked up from Spotlight in their clearance section.

This quilt turned out better than I even hoped it would and I just love it. I think I'm definately going to have to make some more scraps baby quilts like this.

I used the Oh Fransson! Charm Squares Baby Quilt pattern. Always quick and easy, especially when you do straight line quilting.

My mum (the bunting queen) made the bunting. Thanks Mum x

I did have a fabric covered baby wipes container made up but the day before I was to deliver it there was an unfortunate incident with said container and a cup of tea. Needless to say, I have to make it again.

Let's finish with another shot of the bunting hanging in Mum's beautiful garden because, as she says "bunting makes me happy" :)

  2. Ooo I totally agree with your mum. You can never have too much bunting in your life. I think this is one of my favourite LGP quilts Waverlee...the fabrics, the pattern and the quilting are all so fresh and happy. And I love the shot on your wall of the baby sleeping under it!
