Last night I didn't feel like doing anymore blocks for quilts that I am currently working on so I decided to do something completely different.
I saw a post on Kat's blog, Diary Of A Flutter Kat (A Mummas Time To Create), about Blankets Of Love and immediately knew I wanted to make some quilts for this charity. I had seen the idea previously but didn't know how to donate in our state.
What is Blankets Of Love you ask? Well, as Kat says on her blog, Blankets of Love is a charity that runs to benefit our local Perth children's hospital. They are basically little mini baby-sized quilts that are given out the the sick or premature babies to help give the families a little bit of homely comfort during their hospital stay. The families then get to take the Blankets of Love home with them at the end of the stay.
A few weeks ago I pulled out some larger pieces of fabric from my scraps and last night I cut out some squares to make a quilt top for a girl's quilt.
I will also do a boy one at a later date.
Very cute Waverlee. I have some of the pink paisley also. haha... I made matching dresses for my girls out of my lot. :)
ReplyDeleteGood on you :)
Thanks Kat! I got a heap of it ages ago from Spotlight when it was out on clearance. I'm currently using it for a test run on a bucket hat I'm making.
